Mashreq’s sustainability efforts win CSR Label for 5th year

Mashreq is the only financial institution to receive the Dubai Chamber’s CSR Label for the fifth year running since the inception of the label in 2011. This achievement is a mark of recognition for the bank’s ongoing efforts to drive responsible behavior and attitude change in the organization as well as driving sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility. It also acts as a great motivation to maintain the learning curve and adopt innovative corporate sustainability ideas that bring out the smartest outcomes for the wellbeing of the community.
Winning the Dubai Chamber tool shows appreciation for Mashreq’s commitment to operating responsibly, and recognizes the bank’s consistent and significant work done in Corporate Social Responsibility. The label provides a diagnostic framework that assesses the bank’s current state, and helps decide areas of improvement to further excel in the area of sustainability.
Ambar Brahmachary, Head of Marketing & Customer Experience, Mashreq commented on this occasion: “We are very pleased to be recognized for our efforts and developments that the team has worked hard on. Since the inception of the CSR Label in 2011, we have been working closely with the Dubai Chamber towards creating a sustainable business environment for our staff members and stakeholders. Our efforts paid off and since 2011 we have been receiving the label.  Moreover, we are proud to say that all our operations and business units are aligned to the sustainability requirements. The CSR label has greatly helped in spreading the word on the importance of sustainability, and earning the label motivates us to take on more complex initiatives, to do more and to continue to improve ourselves.”
Brahmachary added: “Over the years, we have discovered that Corporate Social Responsibility is not a destination, but a continuous learning curve, a journey that helps us discover newer areas where we can contribute, and newer challenges that need to be surmounted. And we aim to continue leading in this path of improvement and evolve our position in this prestigious level that we are envied for”.
