AS part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Nigeria,
PricewaterhouseCoopers, a global frontline player in tax and audit services
have concluded plans to hold the second edition of its annual media capacity
development training seminar.
The event, which is holding for the second consecutive year, is aimed
at developing and further deepening the ability of the average business and
economy reporter to have an in-depth understanding of the technicalities in
reporting the various sectors of theeconomy.
The event tagged PwC capacity enhancement workshop for Journalists 2015
is to hold in Lagos on Friday 9th of October 2015 and it is scheduled to traina
minimum of 30 different journalists from 30 media houses.
Speaking on the level of preparedness for the event, Delia Asuzu,
spokesperson andimage-maker of PwC, stated that this year's edition is targeted
at Information andcommunication Technology, ICT editors and correspondents as
well as their colleagues on the Energy beat.
"We believe that the training program is a give back to the
Nigerian society, this is so because if you empower a journalist, you have
empowered the multitude of people that reads him or her, and the nation
alsobenefits from the accurate and precise dissemination of information."
According to her this year's edition of the program is not limited to
just the printmedia alone but it also brings together the online news
publishers and broadcast journalists from both the radio and television
stations.
Also speaking, Chief Executive Officer, D'Alphaxristi Ltd, Yemie
Adeoye, consultants to the event stated that this year's edition is being
supported by notable and credible organizations in both the oil and telecoms
sector.
"These organizations share the same beliefs with PwC and
understands that CSR is not just an obligation but an integral and
highlypertinent operational module for every responsible organization".
