Group is happy to announce its 13th CSR & Sustainability Meetup on February
24th in Dubai.
During this event guest
speakers will discuss the issues of sustainability and viability in small
businesses. Special focus will be placed in responsible fashion and the case
for sustainable fashion ventures in the region.
Dr. Petar Stojanov will
focus on embracing sustainability success factors as tools to enable growth for
entrepreneurs and SMEs, along with examples of best-practices and ‘do’s and
don’ts’ lessons learnt from industries, as well as nature.
Petar will provide tools
to identify sustainable market opportunities and capitalise on them, the common
risks when one starts their own sustainable venture and common pitfalls to
avoid them, along with thoughts on remaining ethical in an economically
challenging business environment.
Petar is a former academic
scientist and lecturer with doctoral research exploring clean, sustainable
energy production. He brings a forensic approach to solving business challenges
in his role as MD of GPP Global (www.gppglobal.com); an SME consultancy
specialising in step-change growth by solving supply chain challenges through
innovative business models.
Petar has advised the
Dubai SME Top 100 companies as well as the region’s leading bank on sustainable
business practices. He is an Advisory Board member and Program Director for the
UAE branch of Fashion Revolution, mentoring Emirati entrepreneurs at the
Emirati Launchpad supported by Dubai SME and CBD bank, as well as the Kafa’at
Social Enterprise program supported by the Emirates Foundation.
Ayesha Siddequa will
emphasize on responsible fashion and how her venture is supporting the case of
sustainable fashion in the region. Utilising her experience in the field, she
will raise the issue of responsible fashion practices and awareness in this
sector. She will develop the case for sustainable fashion and how this has
proven to be an opportunity for many to build a successful business. She will
discuss the challenges of being sustainable, ethical and profitable.
Ayesha (CSR professional,
Consultant and Design Activist) is the Founder and Creative Director of Future
Fashion, a sustainable fashion business platform for fashion driven
environmental products based out of Dubai, UAE. Originally from India Ayesha
lived most of her life in the Middle East. After completing her Masters in
Corporate Social Responsibility at Liverpool John Moores University in UK she
moved back to the Middle East to settle in Dubai where she now runs her
business, Future Fashion, the result of a combination of 12+ years of corporate
knowledge and passion for creativity in fashion.
