TAIPEI,
Taiwan -- The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) held the first “Networking Event for
TWSE-listed Companies” to promote interaction and exchange between TWSE-listed
companies, as well as the implementation of corporate social responsibility
(CSR), at the Taipei International Convention Center on Monday.
TWSE invited Tseng Ming-chung, Chairperson
of the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) and Wu Yui-Chun, Director-General
of the Securities and Futures Bureau (SFB) to provide guidance to companies on
how to attach importance to corporate governance and implement CSR. This will
help achieve the vision of “effectively shaping Taiwan's corporate governance
culture and creating a mutually beneficial enterprise value.”
The capital market serves as a window
for economic development, while corporate governance serves as the cornerstone
for the capital market.
In the business process, fair treatment of all
stakeholders promotes the mutual growth of business and society. TWSE has
specially invited domestic financial legal expert, former chief justice of the
Constitutional Court of the Republic of China, Lai In-Jaw to conduct a thematic
speech on “corporate governance” and “corporate social responsibility.” This
will serve to enhance the importance of business integrity, as well as the
implementation of corporate governance and corporate social responsibility.
To strengthen corporate ethics and the
implementation of CSR, TWSE invited 859 TWSE-listed companies to participate in
the “Networking Event for TWSE-listed Companies.” According to estimates,
approximately 200 domestic/foreign TWSE-listed companies will be sending
representatives to attend the first session of the “Networking Event for
TWSE-listed Companies.”
The second session will be held in
Taipei on April 27. Three other sessions will be held at Hsinchu, Taichung, and
Kaohsiung on May 6, May 7, and May 8, respectively. TWSE welcomes all
domestic/foreign TWSE-listed companies to join the festivities.
