NLNG to build N4.5bn secondary school in Rivers

Nigeria LNG Limited has signed an agreement with the Rivers State government and Tianjin Energy Resources Limited to fund the development of a new N4.5 billion model secondary school on Bonny Island.
According to a Business Day report, the tripartite agreement provides the guiding framework for building infrastructure necessary to deliver quality education at the school.

The funds will be released in phases, based on construction milestones and equipping the school.

NLNG is supporting the project as part of its much wider corporate social responsibility in Bonny.

The company also supplies uninterrupted power to the Bonny community through its rural electrification project as well as roads and health care.

It has also through its University Support Programme (USP) renovated and/or built engineering faculties and provide equipment at the cost of N2 billion at six Nigerian universities; University of Port Harcourt, University of Ilorin, University of Ibadan, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and the University of Maiduguri.
