Corporate social responsibility must for sustainable business growth

Speakers at 4th Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Conference on Friday said sustainable business growth is possible only when the interests of stakeholders and the society at large is taken care of.

The conference was organised by Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) at Morgah Club, Rawalpindi. Imminent speakers and participants from diverse fields attended the event.

In his opening remarks, ARL representative highlighted the significance of the HSE in today’s business environment and the importance of sharing best business practices and learning from experiences of one another for a safer future. He said that organising such knowledge sharing events is in line with ARL’s core values of learning and innovation.

The management of ARL emphasized, “We take HSE as a corner stone of our business as well as moral and social responsibility. We believe that in today’s highly competitive and performance driven business climate, nobody can afford to rest on its laurels. Our implementation, certifications and continuous compliance with International Organisation for standardisation not only keep us on the right track, but also enable continuous improvement.

During the conference, ten papers were presented, including occupational health and industrial hygiene, cleaner production techniques, work place hazard recognition and risk management, solid waste management, prevailing occupational health, safety and environment Conditions in Pakistan.
