Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, east China, will
host an international conference on gender equality and corporate
responsibility, organized by UN Women, local administration informed.
According to the Information Office of the municipal government of
Hangzhou, the International Conference 2015 on Gender Equality and Corporate
Social Responsibility will be held on October 22 and 23 in that city.
The meeting was attended by officials of the United Nations (UN), corporate leaders and prominent females in various fields.
Delegates will discuss efforts to achieve gender equality and corporate social responsibility from an international perspective.
They will also discuss on how gender equality benefits both genders, the role of the media in promoting gender equality and leadership and economic situation of women.
UN Women was created in July 2010 by the United Nations General Assembly.
This organization aims to support to intergovernmental bodies to formulate policies, global standards and regulations in favor of women and the empowerment of the historically marginalized social group globally.
