The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Red Crescent
Authority honored National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) for its best social practices
and initiatives in the GCC, during the 3rd GCC Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) Conference that was held recently in Abu Dhabi.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Bin
Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development,
presented the Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bin Mubarak CSR Insignia to Abdul
Mohsen Al Rushaid, NBK Public Relations Manager.
The badge aims at honoring the efforts
and initiatives of institutions in social development and their social
participation in the social development of the Gulf society.
NBK was honored for its efforts and
initiatives in social development especially towards youth by providing job and
training opportunities to fresh graduates and hiring national manpower; In
addition to the bank’s support to build a new state-of-the-art cancer center at
NBK’s Children Hospital. The new center will expand the hospital’s ability to
treat children with cancer and blood diseases.
The 3rd GCC
CSR Conference titled “The Future and The Challenges” examined the present and
debate the future of CSR and related social practices with in-depth analysis of
the trends that are shaping it. The conference focused on recognizing the
programs and activities of social responsibility in the Arabian Gulf area and
displaying the best international and local examples in social responsibility
and development as well as social partnership for private sector companies.
NBK has a long tradition supporting
social and community oriented activities. NBK’s corporate social responsibility
programs cover a range of education, environment, health, philanthropic, social
and sports-related initiatives.
