CORPORATE social responsibility should be part of annual financial budgets for businesses.
Women in Business president and Suva Chamber
of Commerce president Dr Nur Bano Ali said this was a critical point to address
in the business community.
Speaking at the Women in Business (WiB) $6000
cheque presentation to Save the Children Fiji yesterday, Dr Ali said women were
now leading the way to be part of the community effort.
"Women will lead the way by showing the
business community that 'yes!' you have to include community work in your
business plan," she said.
"Community effort should be part of your
business plan and it should be a critical one."
Save the Children Fiji CEO Raijeli Nicole
said she was grateful that WiB opened up the door and gave them permission to
step out of their comfort zone.
She said partners in development were vital
for both parties that would benefit the children.
Vodafone Fiji CEO Pradeep Lal agreed with Dr
Ali's call. Vodadfone Fiji is involved in a number of community activities in
the country.
